Welcome to People n’ Books. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the People n’ Books website and services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use People n’ Books. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You may sign in with an email and password or a supported third-party provider (Google, GitHub, or Spotify). You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
People n’ Books reads the titles of books, podcasts, and audiobooks you add or import, computes a read on your interests ("your vector"), and — if you choose — helps you discover and connect with other members in your city through shared shelves.
People n’ Books connects real people. You agree not to harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm other members; not to post unlawful, hateful, or fraudulent content; and to treat introductions with respect and common sense. You're solely responsible for your interactions with other members, including any in-person meetings — People n’ Books does not vet or background-check members. Use good judgment and meet in public places.
You can block and report members. We may review reports and suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time from your profile.
You retain ownership of the information you provide. You grant People n’ Books a license to use it to operate and improve the Service (for example, computing your analysis and showing your city's aggregate stats). You represent that you have the right to provide it.
The Service integrates third parties including Spotify, Apple/podcast catalogs, book catalogs (import and search), map providers (location suggestions), and email delivery. Their use of your data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the accuracy of any analysis, match, or suggestion, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, People n’ Books and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for interactions between members. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
